Job summary

The Department of Health is seeking a Clinical Programme Coordinator Grade 1 for the Surgery & Ophthalmology FBU - Stoma Therapy Department. The role focuses on coordinating optimal paediatric stoma therapy care within a professional and legal framework.

Responsibilities include formulating pre- and post-operative management for paediatric stoma patients, supervising resources, and providing training and health education to families and care teams.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Basic R425 qualification (nursing degree/diploma) with SANC registration as Professional Nurse.
• Current SANC registration and 7+ years nursing experience post-registration.
• 2+ years paediatric stoma therapy experience and a stoma therapy certificate.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate optimal paediatric stoma therapy care within a professional/legal framework.
• Manage supervision and utilization of Human and Material resources; monitor services.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative management for paediatric stoma patients; health education.
• Train and support ward teams; promote Batho Pele principles and patient rights.
