Job summary

SAB is seeking a proactive Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate and coach level one maintenance teams in our production environment. You will provide technical guidance to maximise equipment availability and support brewing operations.

We value leadership, problem-solving and a disciplined work ethic. The role emphasises safety, continuous improvement, and delivering reliable production performance in a fast-paced FMCG setting.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/N6 in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical engineering or equivalent.
  • Qualified Millwright, Fitter or Electrical Technician with maintenance diploma and 5–10 years in FMCG leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of SHE policies and brewing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and coach level one maintenance teams to maximise equipment availability.
  • Repair breakdowns sustainably and implement continuous improvement actions.
  • Ensure safe work areas and lead by example.

Are you ready to join a team that dreams as big as you do? The Key Purpose of this role is to co-ordinate, coach and control the activities of the level one maintenance teams in the production environment and to provide technical advice to ensure maximum equipment availability.

  • Enforce and maintain a safe work area
  • Manage continuous improvement projects
  • Solve situational problems
  • Provide a technical support service
  • Conduct regular audits with improvement actions
  • Manage personal development and performance and lead by example
  • Develop and monitor team goals and provide individual coaching where required
  • Delegate work activities and empower team members to complete them to the highest standards
  • Assess candidates
  • Problem solving largest downtime events and re-occurring breakdowns with a focus on loop closure
  • Well organized with the ability to plan succinctly
  • Insight into technical and people processes
  • Ability to identify and action innovative solutions
  • Results driven and able to consistently raise the bar to elevate operational standards
  • Disciplined and energetic work ethic
  • Effectively self manages by monitoring performance against goals, taking accountability for outputs, and being proactive in resolving problems
  • Defect elimination entrenchment in Brewing
Key Attributes and Competencies:
  • Proven experience in applying technical knowledge and principles
  • Solid understanding of Brewing principles and processes
  • Good all round knowledge of manufacturing and maintenance processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SHE policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements:
  • Diploma/N6 in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical engineering qualification
  • Qualified Millwright, Fitter or Electrical Technician (N6) with Maintenance diploma and 5-10 year’s technical and brewing experience in a leadership capacity in an FMCG environment
