Job summary

SAB is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to maintain, repair and optimize packaging hall machines in a high‑speed FMCG environment in Gauteng. The role focuses on maximizing plant availability and product quality while controlling costs.

You will review SAP downtime, develop standard work instructions and SOPs, and train operators and shift teams. The role requires N6 Mechanical qualifications, a Millwright trade, and 5 years FMCG maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum N6 Mechanical Engineering with Millwright trade
• 5 years’ FMCG maintenance experience
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance plans and SOPs
• Physically fit for a demanding environment

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and optimize packaging hall machines to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost
• Review SAP downtime in preparation of morning meeting with maintenance controller
• Develop SWIs, SOPs and schedules and train operators
• Provide coaching and knowledge transfer to shift teams during planned maintenance
