Role Overview:

Client is looking for aPackaging Engineerto support the commissioning and technical optimization of newbottling and packaging linesat their Durban facility. The role will involve engineering input into line installation, performance validation, and troubleshooting during pre-installation, installation, commissioning, startup, and stabilization phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support installation, commissioning, and validation of packaging line equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize line performance to achieve desired OEE, efficiency, and quality targets.
  • Work alongside OEMs and vendors to ensure correct installation, configuration,setup and calibration of equipment.
  • Provide technical input on line layout, equipment interfacing, and utility integration.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth handover and integration into operations.
  • Document engineering reports, deviation logs, and performance data.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BSc / BEng / BTech inMechanical Engineering(or related).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience inpackaging engineeringwithin theF&B, FMCG, and brewery sector.
  • Hands-on experience with bottling and secondary packaging technologies.
  • Familiarity with line balancing, changeover management, and process optimization.
  • Understanding of technical drawing, layouts, and P&IDs.
