Overview and Purpose of the Role:

Our business product offering has grown significantly over the years, leading to the development of the face-to-face distribution channel. The position of OUTsurance Broker (Face to Face) has emerged to facilitate this model.

The incumbent will be responsible for growing and developing the business insurance portfolio. The key responsibilities include:

  • Generating new business sales
  • Providing client service and management
  • Achieving high performance levels

The OUTsurance Broker: Face-to-Face Distribution must align with OUTsurance's culture and values of Awesome Service, Passionate, Honest, Human, Dynamic, and Recognition.

Responsibilities:

  • Build your own insurance portfolio by prospecting for new clients through networking, cold calling, and door-to-door canvassing.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk evaluations for clients.
  • Provide solutions by selling OUTsurance short-term products aligned with client needs.
  • Draft, track, and measure personal business plans.
  • Offer ongoing service and support to clients (amendments, renewals, claims, etc.).
  • Retain existing business, including renewal discussions in line with FAIS.
  • Develop internal and external relationships with clients.
  • Continuously build your client base to secure future income.
  • Stay updated on changes and developments in the commercial insurance market.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed targets.
  • Provide feedback to management as requested.
  • Attend weekly and ad hoc team meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as underwriting, actuarial, claims, and surveying teams.
  • Adhere to all quality standards and measures in place.

Qualifications and Experience (Essential):

  • Completed Matric or National Senior Certificate
  • FAIS credits or full insurance qualifications (depending on Dofa)
  • RE5 (depending on Dofa)
  • Own reliable transport
  • Valid code B driver’s license
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
  • Numerical and mathematical skills

Reporting Lines:

The Commercial Agent: Face-to-Face Distribution reports directly to the Regional Manager and works closely with the wider Face-to-Face Distribution team.
