Overview and Purpose of the Role:

Our business product offering has grown significantly, leading to the development of the face-to-face distribution channel. The position of OUTsurance Broker (Face to Face) has been created to support this model.

The incumbent will be responsible for growing and developing the business insurance portfolio.

Key outputs include:

  • New Business sales
  • Client service and management
  • High-level performance

The OUTsurance Broker: Face to Face Distribution must align with OUTsurance's culture and values of Awesome Service, Passionate, Honest, Human, Dynamic, and Recognition.

Responsibilities:

  • Build your own insurance portfolio by prospecting for new clients through networking, cold calling, and door-to-door canvassing.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk evaluations for clients.
  • Provide solutions by selling OUTsurance short-term products aligned with client needs.
  • Draft, track, and measure your personal business plan.
  • Provide ongoing service and support to your clients (amendments, renewals, claims, etc.).
  • Retain existing business, including renewal discussions in line with FAIS.
  • Develop relationships with clients, both internal and external.
  • Continuously build your client base to secure future income.
  • Stay informed about changes and developments in the commercial insurance market.
  • Achieve or exceed targets consistently.
  • Provide feedback to management when requested.
  • Attend all team meetings, weekly and ad hoc.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders such as underwriting, actuarial, claims, and surveying teams.
  • Adhere to all quality standards and measures.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Completed Matric or National Senior Certificate
  • FAIS credits / Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on Dofa)
  • RE5 (depending on Dofa)
  • Own reliable transport
  • Valid code B driver’s license
  • 3 years of external sales experience

Reporting Lines:

The Commercial Agent: Face to Face Distribution reports directly to the Regional Manager and collaborates with the wider Face to Face Distribution team.
