A leading South African online retailer is looking for a highly talented Outbound Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. We are a young, dynamic, hyper-growth company seeking smart, creative, hardworking individuals with integrity.

The purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to our Springbok branch, ensuring smooth and efficient branch operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing and coordinating all warehousing functions in the Outbound area, including inventory management, picking, packing, staging, and dispatching of stock.
  2. Processing returned damaged stock for timely collection.
  3. Introducing and maintaining daily productivity metrics to ensure staff efficiency.
  4. Collaborating with other departments to coordinate outbound activities and ensure timely delivery.
  5. Implementing process and operational improvements, including KPI and SLA reviews.
  6. Managing commercial reporting and liaising with other departments.
  7. Optimizing workflow activities and supporting staff training and development.
  8. Enforcing operational best practices and coaching staff to meet performance standards.
  9. Reporting on quality and performance improvements to GM Operations.
  10. Managing staff performance and understanding operational KPIs.
  11. Participating in ad hoc projects and preparing management reports.
  12. Collaborating with project and operations managers.

Qualifications and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualification or diploma in Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or Commerce preferred.
  • 3-5 years of field experience in operations, with stock management expertise.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management role within operations.
  • Proficiency with WMS applications, troubleshooting, and reporting dashboards.
  • Entrepreneurial, dynamic, customer-centric, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills, data-driven decision-making, and a passion for e-commerce.
  • Adaptability to change, innovative thinking, and collaborative approach.
  • Integrity, hard work, and a solutions-oriented attitude.
