The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 National Senior Certificate, a light vehicle driver’s license, and preferably a heavy vehicle driver’s license. Qualifications

  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate required.
  • A valid light vehicle driver’s license is essential.
  • A preferred heavy vehicle driver’s license would be beneficial.
  • Experience as a tyre serviceman or in a related automotive service role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Otraco Management system policies.
  • Perform inspections on tyres and determine their serviceability.
  • Operate machinery and carry out repairs according to procedures.
  • Maintain all equipment ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Provide timely documentation of service work.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose

You will be required to provide expert services related to the inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement of tyres for various types of vehicles. This role ensures that tyres are in good condition, contributing to the safety, performance, and efficiency of vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Comply with Otraco Management system (OMS)policies and instructions.
  • Perform inspections and determine if tyres should be scrapped, repaired or remain in service.
  • Operate machinery and equipment according to procedures.
  • Perform repairs to tyre and tubes according to procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and tyre handlers according to procedures.
  • Present yourself in a condition fit to perform your duties.
  • Ensuring that all equipment is maintained and in good working order by conducting daily maintenance and coordinating repair work as required.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner as per the job priorities outlined by the customer.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of service work performed.
  • Complete any other duties as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education, Master, other certification:
  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
  • A valid and appropriate light vehicle driver’s license (South African Code 08).
  • A valid and appropriate heavy vehicle drivers’ license (South African Code 10) (Preferred).
Experience (years):
  • Previous experience as a tyre serviceman or in a related automotive service role preferred.
Skills:
  • Knowledge of different types, specifications, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to use tools and equipment such as tyre changers, balancers, and alignment machines.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
