The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring and developing new insurance products based on actuarial specifications, implementing end-to-end functionality including business logic, accounting, batch processing, and system integration.

This is a senior specialist role requiring both technical depth and a strong understanding of insurance domain principles This is a 3 year contract with the option to renew.

Key Responsibilities : OIPA Configuration & Development : Configure and code new insurance products using OIPA, based on detailed actuarial product specification documents.

Develop complex business rules, calculations, workflows, and policy transactions.

Build and manage batch jobs, accounting rules, and validation logic.

Customise OIPA user interface elements and data schemas as needed.

Integration & System Connectivity : Integrate OIPA with external systems (e.g., policy administration, billing, CRM) via APIs, file-based interfaces, or message queues.

Collaborate with integration developers to define and implement secure, reliable data exchange between OIPA and third-party platforms.

Support REST and SOAP services as required for OIPA interfacing.

Data Management & Transformation : Map complex data models from actuarial specifications to OIPA structures.

Perform data transformation using XML, XSLT, or other scripting tools.

Ensure accurate and consistent data handling across policy lifecycle stages.

Work within a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure) to support deployment and scaling of OIPA instances.

Participate in CI / CD practices using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.

Contribute to containerization and orchestration where applicable (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Testing & Support : Conduct unit, integration, and system testing of configurations and custom development.

Troubleshoot configuration issues and provide production support as needed.

Collaborate with QA, BA, and Product teams during UAT and post-deployment.

Maintain thorough technical documentation of configurations, rules, and integration flows.

Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and contribute to code / configuration reviews.

Work within agile / scrum teams using tools like Jira and Confluence.

Required Qualifications & Skills : Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience : 8+ years in software development or insurance systems configuration.

4+ years specifically working with Oracle Insurance Policy Administration (OIPA).

Proven experience configuring and launching new insurance products in OIPA.

Experience integrating OIPA into broader enterprise architecture.

Technical Skills : Strong command of XML, XSLT, and SQL.

Familiarity with Java or Groovy scripting within OIPA context.

Knowledge of API development (REST / SOAP).

Understanding of insurance product lifecycle and policy administration processes.

Exposure to tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, and monitoring platforms.

Soft Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to work independently and in cross-functional agile teams.
