Core Description
- The incumbent is responsible to ensure Statutory and Legal compliance and safety of Network power installations in the Telkom ICT network and will be appoited by the Chief Executive Officer as "Competent Person Supervisor of Machinery" in terms of General Machinery Regulation 2 (7).
Job Responsibilities
OUTPUT 1
- Provided Support to Ancillary Services Group (Regional SPOC)
SUB-OUTPUTS
- Liaise with Regional sections
- Conduct special investigations and report
- Assist regions to reach statutory compliance
- Ensure regional staff are aware of safety requirements
- Certify staff competent to perform specific work
- Conduct knowledge reviews / Safety inspections
- Update Master-Plan and site records
- Assist in project QA, hand-over ad operational readiness
- Perform regional duties required by the corporate division

- Take remedial action to prevent re-occurrence of incidents

- Input into Ancillary Master-plan to upgrade non-compliant sites.
- Take corrective actions to remove safety risks from network

Qualifications and Experience :
- Has passed the examination on the Act and the regulations made there under, held by the Commission of Examiners in terms of regulation E5 (2) of the regulations published under Government Notice R929 of 28June 1963.
- Is a Certified engineer in terms of regulation E5 (2) of the regulations published under Government Notice R929 of 28 June 1963.
- Has successfully completed the trade and is qualified as an Electrician.
