Job summary
Eyesite in Johannesburg is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to take patient histories, perform Visual Acuity testing, and assist during ophthalmic evaluations. The role requires proficiency in Afrikaans and English, and prior medical practice experience is valued.

Qualifications
- Matric or equivalent
- Computer literate
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Experience in medical practice
- Ophthalmic Assistant certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Take patient history and test Visual Acuity & Autorefractions
- Dilate pupils and perform tests (OCTs, Topography, Visual fields)
- Support Ophthalmologist during consultations with notes and scripts
- Assist with in-room ophthalmic procedures
- Prepare reports, authorisation requests and PMB submissions

- Compiling reports, authorisations requests and PMB submissions
Working hours: Full-time position, Monday to Friday. 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
The remuneration will be market-related and based on skill and experience.
