About Wessels

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world\'s manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.

About the role

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an Operator Face Prep, you will be responsible to safely inspect, wash, and prepare faces to drill; Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Pump water using Submersible De-watering pumps;
• Install submersible pumps;
• Clean the area for footwall examination prior examination prior making;
• Wash and clean face for inspection;
• Treat and remove misfires;
• Assist in making lines and grades;

About you

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have minimum 1 years’ experience in an underground mining operation.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12 for external candidates or Grade 10 for Internal candidates;
• Underground experience is advantageous;
• Valid drivers license is essential;
