Job Overview
Recently developed fuel station requires a proactive and experienced manager to oversee the Convenience Store Manager and Back Office operations, providing support where necessary while focusing on improving the Forecourt operation and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Management
- Lead, motivate, and support a large team in a demanding environment.
- Provide operational support and guidance to staff.
- Conduct regular meetings to discuss issues, concerns, and updates.
- Monitor ongoing training and compliance with Engen standards.
- Manage staff rostering.
- Operations Management
- Manage daily operations of the fuel station.
- Manage fuel stock levels, ordering, and receiving.
- Maintain and improve Forecourt processes.
- Develop or update standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legislative requirements, and health & safety standards.
- Implement policies and procedures as needed.
- Ensure promotional materials are displayed and site updates are made timely.
- Plan for price adjustments and manage stock accordingly.
- Oversee staff planning and rostering considering busy periods and pay days.
- Forensic Management
- Conduct audits and investigations to prevent fraud and theft.
- Manage incidents of fraud/theft, including investigations and disciplinary actions in collaboration with HR.
- Facility Management
- Manage maintenance checklists and preventative maintenance.
- Keep records of warranties and guarantees, ensuring equipment is operational.
- Targets
- Review targets and report to senior management.
- Lead teams to meet business targets.
- Implement strategies to increase Quickshop turnover using system data.
- Develop, implement, and review operational projects and policies to ensure control, compliance, and risk reduction.
Experience & Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.
- 2-3 years fuel station management experience.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Experience with WINBRANCH or similar systems, including fuel station back office and POS systems.
- Knowledge of fuel sales reporting, stock management, and ordering.
Skills & Competencies

Package & Remuneration
Basic salary of R20,000.00 - R25,000.00 per month, depending on skills and experience. If within MIBCO thresholds or upon request, membership to MIBCO Provident Fund after 6 months; otherwise, a company pension fund and death benefit apply. Funeral cover is provided at no cost to the employee.
