Operations Manager – Retirement Community (JB5156)

Duration: Permanent

Our client, a well-established retirement lifestyle centre, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Operations Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of their retirement facility in Krugersdorp. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent operational management experience, and a passion for enhancing the quality of life of elderly residents.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Hospitality, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in managing a retirement village, residential care facility, or similar operation.
  3. Strong financial and budget management skills.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities, with a compassionate approach to elderly care.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of Pastel Partner is an advantage.
  6. Fluency in Afrikaans and English; a third language is advantageous.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage crisis situations effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retirement facility, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  2. Manage staff performance, training, and development to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  3. Implement and oversee financial planning, budgeting, and cost control measures.
  4. Ensure effective resident care services by coordinating with healthcare providers and support staff.
  5. Maintain and improve operational systems and processes to enhance efficiency.
  6. Engage with residents, families, and the community, fostering strong relationships and ensuring resident satisfaction.
  7. Manage facility maintenance, health and safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  8. Lead fundraising and community engagement initiatives to promote sustainability and enhance services.
  9. Actively participate in board meetings and operational decision-making.
