Job summary

Greys Recruitment seeks an experienced Production Manager to oversee manufacturing, packaging and warehouse operations in a GMP-compliant environment in South Africa. You will ensure production plans and delivery targets are achieved on time, while maintaining documentation and regulatory readiness.

Leading and developing production supervisors, coordinating with Quality Assurance, Procurement and Engineering, and managing costs and continuous improvement initiatives are key responsibilities for

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
• Pharmaceutical/manufacturing sector experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse operations.
• Ensure production plans and delivery targets are achieved on time.
• Maintain GMP, SOPs, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure manufacturing documentation is audit-ready.
• Collaborate with QA to manage deviations, investigations, and CAPAs.
• Monitor production performance including yield, scrap, rework, and downtime.
• Lead, develop, and manage production supervisors, team leaders, and operators.
• Ensure workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Engineering for material availability and equipment reliability.
• Manage production costs, budgets, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure manufacturing documentation is accurate and audit-ready.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to manage deviations, investigations, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
• Monitor production performance, including yield, scrap, rework, and downtime.
• Lead, develop, and manage production supervisors, team leaders, and operators.
• Ensure workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate with Procurement and Engineering to ensure material availability and equipment reliability.
• Manage production costs, budgets, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Engineering, Production Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements is advantageous.
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience is advantageous.
• Experience in a contract manufacturing (CMO/CDMO) environment is advantageous.Experience managing unionised workforces is advantageous.
• A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
