Job Title: Operations Project Manager (Mining) - Fixed Term Contract

Are you a dynamic and results-driven Operations Project Manager with a passion for driving efficiency and excellence in the mining industry?

Our client is seeking a highly experienced professional to lead key projects and optimize underground operations in a challenging 3-month fixed-term contract located in Johannesburg North.

Requirements:
  1. NQF 7 (Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Mining Engineering
  2. Completion of a Middle / Executive Managerial Leadership Programme
  3. Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
  4. At least 7 years' experience in a related role, with 3 years at a unit managerial level or in a functional / specialist area
  5. Assertive, goal-oriented self-starter with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  6. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
  7. Creative and solutions-oriented
  8. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  10. Stress tolerant
  11. Proficient in Microsoft Office
  12. Medically fit to function in the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health facility
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Contributing to business planning and company strategy to improve competitiveness, profitability, and growth
  2. Recognizing and anticipating operational, technical, and safety challenges, taking action to prevent or overcome them, and seeking continuous improvement
  3. Participating in the estimation and preparation of cost budgets for projects or sub-projects and monitoring and controlling actual costs against budget
  4. Proposing capital expenditure projects when required to expand capacity or improve operations
  5. Contributing to project initiation, scope definition, and scope change control
  6. Leading and driving underground operations continuous improvement projects and initiatives
  7. Driving a culture of safety ownership with a strong emphasis on behavior-based safety
