Job description

A leading provider of health, safety and legal compliance consulting services, requires a dynamic and experienced Operations Managers to oversee the daily operations of its KZN branch in Umhlanga.

The Operations Manager will ensure seamless delivery of compliance services, manage branch staff and drive operational efficiency to meet client expectations and organizational objectives.

This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail and commitment to upholding standards in health, safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities :

Operational Oversight : Manage all branch operations, including the delivery of health, safety and compliance consulting services (eg. risk assessments, safety audits, compliance training) ensuring adherence to SLA's and client requirements

Team Management : Lead, motivate and supervise branch staff, including consultants and administrative personnel, to achieve performance targets and maintain high service quality

Client Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with clients in government, medical, corporate and other sectors, ensure client satisfaction

Compliance and Risk Management : Ensure all branch activities comply with SA regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the POPIA Act, while implementing risk management protocols

Financial Oversight : Collaborate with the Financial Manager to develop and manage branch budgets, monitor expenditure, and ensure cost effective operations, including approving purchase orders and managing petty cash

Resource Coordination : Oversee the sourcing and allocation of equipment and resources between branches, ensuring efficient logistics and availability for client projects

Performance Monitoring : Track and report on KPI's such as SLA adherence, client satisfaction and operational efficiency, providing regular reports to the Regional Operations Manager

Process Improvement : Develop and implement strategies to enhance branch operations, streamline processes and improve service delivery, aligning with organisational objectives

Administrative Support : Manage branch administrative tasks, including stock control, contract documentation, and staff records

Health & Safety Standards : Maintain general health, safety and housekeeping standards within the branch, ensuring compliance with internal policies

Requirements : Matric is essential

Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field advantageous

Experience :

Minimum of 5 Years experience in operations management, preferably in health, safety or compliance consulting

At least 2 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role, managing teams and client relationships

Valid drivers license and own vehicle required for occasional travel

Skills and Competencies :

Strong leadership and people management skills

Sound financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control

Knowledge of South African health and safety regulations would be advantageous

Preferred Qualifications :

Certification in health and safety (e.g SAMTRAC) or compliance related fields

Experience in the consulting industry, particularly in government or corporate sectors

Familiarity and ability to work within a Management System and comply therewith
