SUMMARY :

Our Client is seeking an Operations Manager Industrial to be based at its Durban office, reporting directly to the Managing Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, organising and implementing various objectives in the industrial division to meet our organisational goals, and to ensure the business unit’s profitability and sustained growth.

Requirements :

• Minimum 10 years’ management experience of which at least four at a senior level in an industrial environment.
• Relevant B-degree.
• Considerable knowledge of the principals, techniques, and practices of the industry.
• Strong planning, organising and directing skills.
• Dynamic drive and results orientation.
• Good financial planning understanding and strategic management skills.
• Able to foster good internal and external relationships. Must be hands on in the Plant.

POSITION INFO :

Roles and responsibilities :

1. Provide strategic leadership, direction and overall management.
2. Identify business opportunities within the industrial sector.
3. Liaise with clients and execution teams regarding scope of business.
4. Prepare annual budgets and strategic plans and ensure effective control thereof.
5. Review financial forecasts and report on variances.
6. Coordinate activities of several alternatives concurrently across business boundaries.
7. Guide operational issues, monitor progress and make necessary adaptations.
8. Provide direction on both tactical and operational implications.
9. Perform duties and responsibilities as specified by the Managing Director.
10. Ensure good governance of the business unit.
11. Review business processes for improvement.
12. Support and ensure a positive and dynamic culture exists in the unit.
