Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced Operation Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks and operational needs for 5 retail food stores in Johannesburg.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be a strong team leader, and customer-centric, with 5 years of experience in the industry.

The Ops Manager will be responsible for increasing efficiency, implementing stock control measures, monitoring customer service, and training staff. Our clients pride themselves on being "exceptional" across all touchpoints.

This is a demanding role, as the stores are open daily until 10 pm, 365 days a year, including weekends and public holidays, which are their busiest times.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Work with a team comprising an HR Manager, Product Trainer, and COO.
  • Guide the team daily and report to the COO.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of current and future stores.
  • Manage staff commitments required for daily operations.
  • Uphold company standards and procedures at all times.
Requirements:
  • Based in Johannesburg.
  • Own car is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience, preferably in the Restaurant or Hospitality sector.
  • Knowledge of HR, BCEA, and LRA.
  • Ability to lead a team and implement procedures and strategies.
