CITIMED AMBULANCE SERVICES JOB TITLE:

OPERATIONS MANAGER PURPOSE OF POSITION

Responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of the Citimed Ambulance Service. Plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate the functioning of ambulance services. Maintain and develop policies and procedures of the organization. Responsible for daily coverage, emergency responses, and call coverage during regular daily hours. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Administration

Oversees, directs, and maintains the overall operations of the Citimed Ambulance Services

Works with the JMH Group Management and other staff persons to accomplish the goals and objectives set by the JMH Group.

Communicates timely, accurate information to the new business development manager, Group Management, and Citimed Ambulance staff.

Prepares update reports when requested by the new business development manager or JMH Group Management.

Develops and administers the annual Citimed Ambulance Services budget in cooperation with the Finance Team.

Monitors expenditures and receipts of the Citimed Ambulance Services.

Financially plans for future equipment needs.

Reviews and approves Citimeds staff members leave, and overtime and submits for processing.

Manages stock control by arranging for purchasing equipment, materials, and supplies in accordance with the budget and cost effectiveness including long range capital and equipment needs.

Enters all run reports into the appropriate database, keeps records, and updates when appropriate

Attends JMH Group Management meetings, Citimed meetings, budget meetings and any other required meetings.

Operational

Coordinates and supervises Citimeds daily operations and training activities and staff through intervening supervisors.

To have an active relationship with all the departments key customers and meet customers to ensure effective service provision. To act as a key customer contact point.

Develops and oversees the formation of the Citimeds Ambulance Services policies, goals.

Ensures safety and efficiency in the workplace by establishing policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of care is being rendered

Client care and on-going client satisfaction by effectively meeting customer needs, building productive customer relationships, taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Monitor crew functions during emergency calls when appropriate

Effective control, maintenance and repairs of emergency vehicles and equipment

Does ambulance maintenance checks, stock checks, fixing of equipment and other necessary checks when appropriate

Manages the cleaning and maintenance of the Citimeds building and grounds when appropriate

Manages the inbound ambulance services telephone line. Ensuring information, guidance, and assistance; messages and/or directs calls to appropriate personnel are done to Citimeds professional standards.

Substitutes for other staff during temporary absences or where relevant

Performs Other Related Duties As Required

Staff Management

Ensure relevant new staff recruitment paperwork is completed.

Encourage operational input from all Citimed staff.

Works with Citimed staff, providing leadership, support, and assistance.

Coordinates training for new Citimed staff; conducts or assists with the training as necessary

Address personnel issues in a timely and professional manner

Work with Training Coordinator to ensure all necessary training is completed

Ensures all paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner

Promotes proper training and supervision

Monitor Citimed work and leave schedules

Setting high standards of performance for self and others

COMPETENCIES (The following will be advantageous)

Minimum Requirements

(Educational Qualifications & Experience)

Must have a relevant qualification i.e., NDip EMT / BTech / EMC BHSc.

Preferred Bachelors degree in Emergency Management Services, Business Management/Administration, Medical studies, or related fields.

Must have 10 years experience in service/operations management.

Must have 3 years experience in Senior Management including employee relations, conflict resolution and critical thinking.

Must have valid drivers licence with PrDP and must be a competent driver.

The ideal person will have willingness to assume job ownership, work independently and apply principles of continuous improvement.
