Job description

takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Catalogue Listings Manager to join our Merchandising, Promotions & Catalogue team in Cape Town.

The position reports to the Head of Merchandising, Promotions & Catalogue.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of a team that is responsible for the catalogue data uploads of new catalogue listings and editing of existing catalogue listings across both Retail and Marketplace
  • Reporting on Catalogue Activity and Productivity ensuring turnaround times and quality targets are achieved.
  • Fault finding, root cause investigations, preventative measures and continuous improvements
  • Ensuring standards and processes are in place to deliver accurate and complete listings
  • Balancing of resources between different operational teams including resource planning and task pipeline management to deliver on performance targets related to quality, throughput and stakeholder management.
  • Ensuring the correct implementation of the Catalogue Product Information Requirements document
  • Maintain any changes to the catalogue systems, process and procedures and update the catalogue user guides accordingly
  • Working cross-functionally with the Retail Divisionals and Marketplace Team as the point of contact for internal priorities
  • Working with the Catalogue product team to ensure the roadmap supports strategies for improving the quality and scale of new product listings
  • Where relevant, manage the catalogue creation charge-out function for Merchants
  • Coordinating and controlling photography services

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar related to management or 5-10 years relevant working experience
  • 3 Years+ managerial experience
  • Experience with large-data (Advantageous)
  • Retail/FMCG experience (Advantageous)
  • Proven track record in managing a large team
  • Track record of improving business systems and processes
  • Able to communicate business requirements to product teams
