Job description

The role of the OPERATIONS MANAGER will report into the and be responsible for the operations for 3 facilities with complex production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure Operational Efficiency through:
    • Developing and implementing production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
  2. Uphold strict Safety and Compliance through:
    • Enforcing safety protocols and promoting a culture of safety among all employees.
    • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies related to environmental, health, and safety standards.
    • Ensuring SSOPs are maintained and enforced.
  3. Manage Operational Costs effectively through:
    • Budget tracking and adherence.
    • Monitoring operational expenses and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
    • Analysing financial data and preparing budgets to support operational planning and decision-making.
  4. Develop and lead a high-performing operations team through:
    • Monitoring and reporting on time and attendance of the production team.
    • Planning for absenteeism cover and ensuring there are sufficient team members to run all required production lines each day.
    • Leading and motivating the production team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
    • Providing training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge and cross-training where needed.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Engineering qualification or similar.
  • 8 years experience in a similar role (of which 4 years should have been in a supervisory/mentoring capacity).
  • Experience running multiple production lines.

This role will suit a manufacturing or operational manager who enjoys managing and leading through a hands-on approach. Someone who is comfortable working in a warehouse environment and can influence and inspire staff to achieve operational efficiencies at all levels.
