Job description

Our client in the Automotive industry is seeking to employ a Maintenance Group Leader to join their company.

Duties include:

  1. Management of Personnel to reduce facility downtime and improve stability
  2. Plan and Manage Planned maintenance activities
  3. Manage Shift’s timekeeping to support required activities
  4. Manage overtime according to plant requirements
  5. Control Maintenance budget and make requisitions for Consumables & Spare parts to meet plant targets
  6. Lead, motivate, and coach artisans to achieve departmental / organizational goals and objectives
  7. Conduct employee appraisal in accordance with HR standards and guidelines
  8. Conduct disciplinary process of sub-ordinates with HR standard and guidelines
  9. Manage member planned maintenance and facility device skills development
  10. Ensure that Kaizens (Improvements) are investigated, and take action to achieve plant targets
  11. Create work activities to Rectify Facility EHS and Legal Non-Compliance
  12. Effective feedback and develop solutions by self and with manager

Minimum Requirements:

Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Equivalent NQF6.

Minimum of + / -5 years of experience or certification in each of the following:

  1. Computer Literate
  2. Instrumentation, Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  3. Electrical and Mechanical experience
  4. All Maintenance Safety applications and experience in compliance (Legal)
  5. Management (Production / Operations Management experience will be advantageous)
  6. Knowledge of OHS Act will be advantageous

Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Knowledge of TPM or other Maintenance systems
  2. Automation Systems and Robotics
  3. Knowledge of Scada (Bonus)
  4. Project Management Experience (Bonus)
  5. Experience in Automated Manufacture Environment
  6. Knowledge of Conveyers and Reticulation
