Job summary

Yellosa in Johannesburg seeks a seasoned Operations and Logistics Executive to lead end-to-end logistics, shipping and asset management, ensuring service reliability and regulatory compliance. You will drive cost efficiency, coach multidisciplinary teams and align operations with commercial goals.

The ideal candidate has a strong track record in budgets, KPIs and vendor relationships, with deep knowledge of vessel scheduling, customs and import/export practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 8 to 10 years' experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, port operations.
• Proven track record in operational management, including planning, execution, performance monitoring, and process optimisation.
• Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• In‑depth knowledge of shipping operations, vessel scheduling, customs regulations, import/export procedures, and logistics best practices.
• Experience managing budgets, KPIs, vendor relationships, and customer service performance.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with customers, suppliers, port authorities, and internal teams.
• Proficiency in using relevant logistics software and tools.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
