The Role

The Operations Manager is a hands-on, entrepreneurial project management practitioner responsible for managing the realization of solar photovoltaic projects. This includes supervising and coordinating activities across engineering, procurement, construction & commissioning, and operation & maintenance, with a focus on optimizing time, cost, and quality while ensuring safety standards are met.

As the business scales, this role may evolve from managing specific projects to leveraging experience to optimize processes for seamless integration of all execution functions, ensuring optimal business performance and customer satisfaction. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to lead this transformation.

Responsibilities
  • Establish, train, mentor, develop, and manage high-performance operations teams to deliver projects on time, within quality standards, and meeting performance goals.
  • Develop efficient and cost-effective execution processes in consultation with stakeholders, promoting continuous learning and improvement.
  • Ensure seamless execution through integration of activities across responsibilities.
  • Monitor and manage workload versus capacity, aligning supply chain and other deliverables.
  • Track and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Formulate performance improvement plans, conduct reviews, and make termination decisions if necessary.
  • Provide leadership during field engineering, material and equipment management, and construction phases, adhering to project schedules.
  • Implement cost-effective engineering, installation, and operational processes, procedures, and materials.
  • Manage and ensure adherence to all safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • BSc Engineering degree or equivalent with a minimum of eight years of experience.
  • At least five years of management experience, with at least four in the construction industry.
  • Five years of progressive experience in the solar photovoltaic sector.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid and clean driver's license.
  • Willingness to visit and work on sites frequently.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment criminal, driving, and drug screening.
