Job summary

A leading company is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at its manufacturing facility in Johannesburg. Job description

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing facility and warehouse, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.

  2. Manage and implement ISO standards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including maintaining a safe working environment.

  3. Ensure adherence to FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures for inventory and stock management.

  4. Handle logistics, stock takes, and ensure efficient distribution of products.

  5. Monitor security systems and work closely with security personnel to maintain facility safety.

  6. Coordinate and manage the stock control system, reviewing stock levels, reordering materials, and avoiding production delays.

  7. Collaborate with the CEO on strategic operational decisions, acting as a trusted right hand to ensure operational excellence.

  8. Implement and maintain environmental management procedures to meet company sustainability goals.

  9. Prepare and present regular operational reports to the CEO.

Qualifications and Experience
  1. A relevant Degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.

  2. At least 5-7 years of experience in managing operations within a manufacturing environment.

  3. Proven experience with ISO standards, health and safety regulations, and logistics management.

  4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and projects effectively.

  5. In-depth knowledge of warehouse management, stock control, and logistics systems.

  6. Ability to work closely with senior leadership, offering strategic insight and problem-solving capabilities.

  7. Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling high-pressure situations.
