Job description

Permanent Production & Workflow Management

  1. Organise workflow to meet specifications and deadlines.
  2. Monitor and drive production to achieve deadlines and continuous improvement.
  3. Determine necessary resources (workforce, raw materials, etc.).
  4. Analyse budgets, control production costs, and identify waste.
  5. Create and implement operational changes.
  6. Focus on growing business through product/line changes.

Team Leadership & Performance

  1. Liaise with managers to align on objectives.
  2. Supervise and evaluate production personnel.
  3. Define and implement production targets.
  4. HR management and recruitment within operations.

Design & Product Development

  1. Lead the design process for high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
  2. Ensure continuous improvement in product quality.
  3. Design for customer-specific applications and development.

Maintenance & Equipment

  1. Schedule planned maintenance with relevant teams.
  2. Specify and purchase equipment.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  1. Enforce health, safety, and environmental systems.
  2. Support SHEQ initiatives.
  3. Ensure ISO and SABS compliance.
  4. Maintain housekeeping standards.
  5. Coordinate with contractors to address and resolve electrical quality issues.

What You'll Bring :

  • Bachelor's degree / diploma in mechanical, electrical engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years in operations management (steel / electromechanical preferred).
