Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager
Purpose of the Role
The O&M Manager is responsible for managing and driving the performance of the service level agreements (SLA) with our customers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, financial sustainability, and operational excellence. This includes overseeing SLA P&L, resource optimisation, contractual and HSE compliance, and fostering a high-performance team culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Management
- Manage and report on SLA Profit and Loss (P&L) performance.
- Maximise revenue through billing compliance.
- Align the strategic direction of the Rubicon Operations Centre (ROC) with SLAs and set measurable KPIs for the team.
- Optimise operational expenses (OPEX) for cost efficiency.
- Review opportunities and risks associated with SLAs.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor and report on KPIs such as turnaround times, ticket resolution rates, and closure statistics.
- Create and implement operating procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Report on SLA performance metrics.
- Manage resources to meet operational demands and customer expectations.
- Oversee O&M management of SLAs.
Team Development & Leadership
- Develop and lead a high-performing team through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Drive succession planning and career development.
- Develop individual KPIs to manage and drive team performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate with other departments for seamless service delivery and operational alignment.
- Engage with vendors to review and improve SLA performance.
- Review and report on SLA and O&M contract compliance.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure SLA compliance with HSE regulations.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to SLAs and customer interactions.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure adherence within the ROC team and contractors.
Educational Requirements
- Minimum Matric/NQF4 equivalent.
- Engineering qualification in renewable energy solutions.
- Project Management Certificate or Diploma.
Experience
- At least 2-3 years as Contracts Manager or External Sales Consultant in renewable energy or sustainable technology industries.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, solar energy solutions, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of sales in renewable energy sector.

- Technical knowledge of renewable energy products (solar panels, inverters, batteries, energy storage).
- Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in CRM and Microsoft Office.

Additional Requirements
- Own vehicle and valid driver’s license for travel.
- Ability to travel regularly for client meetings and site assessments.
