About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operations Lead specializing in Manufacturing to join their team in Port Elizabeth. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, ensuring production targets are met efficiently, safely, and with the highest quality standards. You will lead a team of production staff, implement operational improvements, and manage resources to achieve departmental and company goals. This is a hands-on leadership role for an individual dedicated to operational excellence in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality specifications.


• Manage and mentor production staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.


• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures on the production floor.


• Monitor production equipment and processes, identifying and resolving operational issues promptly.


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower manufacturing costs.


• Maintain accurate production records and reporting on key operational metrics for the Port Elizabeth facility.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.


• Proven knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and safety regulations.


• Experience with lean manufacturing principles or other process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.


• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate diverse teams.


• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced production environment.
