Operations Finance Manager - 6 month contract
Role Purpose: A client requires a financially- and operationally-minded individual to bring structure to the finance and admin teams, advise the CFO on efficiencies and process improvements, and act as a liaison across production and operational teams.
You will play a key role in shaping business operations, reporting directly to the CFO.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the operational finance team and functions such as tax, AFS, and management accounts.
- Modernizing finance functions.
- Reviewing and optimizing processes to improve efficiencies.
- Driving the annual budget process beyond just preparing numbers.
- Managing annual audits and relationships with auditors.
- Planning and motivating Capex activities.
- Reviewing staff contracts, KPIs, incentive schemes, and conducting annual reviews.
Systems and Process Management:
- Ensuring effective operation of financial systems (ERP and reporting) across all entities.
- Recommending solutions to improve operational efficiencies, such as better data import methods.
- Collaborating with BI to ensure accurate, complete, and timely transactional data.
- Reviewing reports to ensure all relevant dimensions are included.
- Establishing processes to identify and escalate potential problems.
- Participating in weekly operations meetings to address issues and prioritize queries.
- Implementing efficient processes to meet group deadlines.
Cash Flow Management Support:
- Forecasting cash flow for various periods.
- Analyzing performance against forecasts.
- Managing daily cash flow and reporting.
- Providing weekly and monthly cash flow reports to stakeholders.
- Handling ad hoc projects as assigned by management.
Team Management:
- Communicating effectively internally and externally.
- Ensuring key deliverables are met on time and queries are resolved promptly.
- Sharing vital information with team members to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Managing expectations and proactively communicating issues.
- Providing guidance, mentorship, and support to direct reports.
- Managing daily team operations.
- Setting bi-annual KPIs and conducting performance appraisals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
- 6-9 years of relevant finance experience.
