You will lead the operations finance function, ensuring revenue assurance, cash settlements, reconciliations, and robust controls across stores and delivery platforms.

You will drive financial insights, improvements and a high-performing team while ensuring compliance, audit readiness and timely reporting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Completed SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous.
• 5-7 years' finance experience, with 2-3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Experience in multi-site retail, QSR, FMCG, hospitality or franchise is advantageous.

Operations Finance Manager

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to appoint an experienced Operations Finance Manager to join our client’s team in Plattekloof.

The Operations Finance Manager will lead and oversee the Operations Finance function across a multi-site environment, with responsibility for revenue assurance, cash and tender reconciliations, accounts receivable, financial controls, reporting and compliance.

The successful candidate will also provide financial insight to operational leaders, drive process improvements and lead a high-performing finance team.

• Oversee the completeness, accuracy and timely recording of all SA and UK sales revenue across stores and delivery platforms.
• Ensure all cash, card, delivery partner and merchant settlements are reconciled in accordance with agreed timelines and financial controls.
• Monitor aged reconciliation items, chargebacks, disputed transactions and settlement variances.
• Ensure prompt resolution and escalation of outstanding reconciliation items where required.
• Review and analyse trade and non-trade accounts receivable ageing.
• Drive collection efforts and reduce overdue balances.
• Identify revenue leakage risks and implement corrective actions to protect company profitability.
• Develop and maintain revenue assurance controls and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes for operational finance activities.
• Ensure deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently met.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure reconciling items are valid, accurately supported and cleared within agreed time frames.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and audit requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests.
• Provide supporting documentation as required for audit processes.
• Monitor compliance with financial policies.
• Recommend improvements to strengthen governance and control environments.
• Review journals, financial adjustments and corrective entries before submission.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, coach and develop the Operations Finance team.
• Ensure high levels of team performance, accountability and service delivery.
• Manage workload allocation, productivity and team performance against agreed KPIs.
• Partner with Operations, Treasury, Accounts Receivable, IT and external service providers.
• Work collaboratively to resolve financial and operational issues.
• Provide financial guidance and support to operational leaders.

Financial Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Lead process improvement, standardisation and automation initiatives within the Operations Finance function.
• Identify recurring issues and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Implement sustainable solutions to address operational and financial challenges.
• Support strategic projects and initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Completed SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5-7 years' finance experience, including at least 2-3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in Operational Finance, Revenue Management, Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, Reconciliations and Financial Controls.
• Experience within a multi-site retail, QSR, FMCG, hospitality or franchise environment is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger management.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Lookups, Power Query and analysis of large datasets.
• Experience working with ERPs and financial systems.
• Exposure to POS integrations, payment gateways and delivery platforms would be advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing performance and driving operational efficiency.
