Are you passionate about IT service excellence and driving impactful change?

We're on the lookout for a dynamic IT Operations Engineer to lead incident resolution, optimize processes, and drive operational improvement across our IT landscape.

POSITION: Contract until December

EXPERIENCE: 4-6 Years related working experience

COMMENCEMENT: 01 April

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum mandatory experience: 3 Years Application User Support and Incident Management. Advantageous qualifications & experience: Any IT qualifications relevant to the role (e.g. scripting languages, operating systems, database administration). ITIL. GROUP IT Operations processes & systems.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  1. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues, often involving multiple systems and applications.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide responsive and effective user support, including the ability to understand user needs, explain technical concepts in plain language, and document solutions.
  3. Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) to streamline and optimize operational tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
  4. Experience in setting up and maintaining monitoring solutions, as well as the ability to quickly triage and respond to incidents, escalating as needed to ensure timely resolution.
  5. Proven understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g. Azure) and the ability to manage and maintain on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking.
  6. Knowledge of CI / CD tools and processes to ensure smooth and reliable application deployments, with a focus on maintaining high availability and uptime.
  7. Awareness of security best practices and the ability to implement and maintain security controls, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
  8. Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

  1. Windchill experience.
  2. Grafana experience.
  3. Experience working in an Agile development environment, with the ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing requirements.
  4. Excellent document writing skills to maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of operational processes and procedures.
  5. German Speaking / Base understanding.

ROLE: IT Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis

  1. Manage IT problem investigations end-to-end by facilitating root cause analyses and implementing corrective and preventative measures.
  2. Analyze and report on IT incident trends to identify and eliminate root causes.
  3. Take proactive action to prevent potential service interruptions.
  4. Determine if new incidents are linked to known errors or existing problems.
  5. Recommend long-term solutions to prevent incident recurrence.

Process Improvement & Change Management:

  1. Lead process improvement and change management initiatives using relevant methodologies and frameworks.
  2. Plan and execute projects with minimal disruption to business operations.
  3. Develop in-depth knowledge of business processes to determine when system / application changes are required.

IT Operations Optimization:

  1. Provide technical guidance for planning, monitoring, and managing IT systems and operations.
  2. Analyze workflows and operating system performance, recommending improvements to increase system efficiency.
  3. Propose system modifications or new equipment to enhance capacity and performance.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

  1. Develop communication plans to support change readiness and manage stakeholder expectations.
  2. Serve as a change agent, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Additional Duties:

  1. Prepare system / technical documentation in alignment with ISO standards.
  2. Participate in sprint planning and refinement reviews with cross-functional feature teams.
  3. Support system administration tasks, including upgrades, validation testing, and end-user support.
  4. Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and see concepts through to successful implementation.
