Operational Till Supervisor - Frontline Department

Purpose:

The purpose of this job is to ensure the smooth operation of the department by providing prompt, friendly, and reliable services, assisting customers at the help desk, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure smooth operations of the department.
• Manage cashiers, lunch & tea breaks at the front end.
• Provide full training for cashiers.
• Process EFT payments.
• Ensure the validity of the CGS – bank guarantee service and make necessary changes when required.
• Issue gift cards, check customers' reward cards, and cash in points.
• Process refunds/credits.
• Direct customers to the next available till, ensuring an efficient process.
• Implement and enforce all cashier policies.
• Manage daily register, and monitor time and attendance.
• Submit weekly and monthly reports to the supervisor.
• Relieve cashiers when required.
• Check status for catching up – shorts and overs.
• Participate in partial stock takes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Perform any work-related tasks delegated by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• Matric or three completed Intercept courses totaling 120 credits.
• Brights Induction (Service Excellence).
• At least 3 years of cashier experience.
• At least 2 years as a Till Supervisor.
• Ability to perform cash-ups.
• Good customer service skills.
• Effective communication skills with staff and customers.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to handle pressure.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
