Description
This role specializes in data quality issue management, including issue identification, data profiling, data cleanup, and data quality issue prevention. It operates under the guidance of data governance practices and in collaboration with the team, data owners, and data stewards.

Responsibilities

1. Data Quality Tools Management
   • Liaise with tech partners to ensure tools function as required in support of data quality and governance work.
   • Optimize tools used for data quality and governance within Private Bank to support team objectives.
   • Establish and maintain standards for effective and efficient tool usage.
   • Assist with training and adoption of new tools within the Data Ops Team.
2. Data Quality Tracking and Issue Identification
   • Understand and contribute to the Private Bank (PB) Data Quality Tracking Model (DQTM) using Microsoft SQL code.
   • Contribute to new data quality tool implementations.
   • Acquire new data into the DQTM employing relevant ETL tools.
   • Support the DQTM by monitoring control-m job execution and resolving data issues/requests.
   • Perform additional data quality analysis and build dashboards as required.
3. Data Quality Issue Cleanups
   • Develop a strong business understanding of relevant data.
   • Prepare data for cleanup following established procedures.
   • Follow the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) process per platform to update source data (Oracle SQL).
   • Perform regular and manual cleanups with stakeholder involvement following governance processes.
4. Ad Hoc Requests
   • Investigate data quality requests during support weeks and manage the shared mailbox according to team guidelines.
5. Data Quality Practitioner for Source Systems
   • Continuously improve data quality for assigned sources in collaboration with the team and data stewards.
   • Gain a solid understanding of source system data, ERD, and related business processes.
6. Other Activities
   • Contribute to establishing and refining quality processes and prepare reports on data and metadata quality.
   • Update business data glossaries and relevant data quality artifacts.
   • Enhance knowledge of data within Private Bank and Investec Group, including tools.
