To oversee the performance compliance of contracted drivers in the assigned stores/clusters to ensure quality of outputs of functional operations in accordance with client service level agreements, standard operating procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements. Furthermore, ensuring compliance of and access to branded/unbranded assets and resources for contractors to deliver their services as per the service level agreement and finally to assist with operations-based projects to incumbent new contractors and/or stores.
POSITION INFO:
- Manage performance objectives of clusters, monitor and apply corrective measures on performance exceptions in accordance with policies and procedures and escalate to area manager for disciplinary or penalty actions.
- Co-ordinate, manage and control contracted driver availability schedules daily and weekly as per cluster requirements.
- Daily and weekly compliance checks on drivers and assets: Ensure that all drivers have the necessary resources and tools available in working order and that they meet all legal and regulatory conditions to deliver their services.
- Physical support and issuing of assets, uniforms, and campaign-related articles, ensuring AODs are completed and submitted to the admin team within the required timeframe.
- Maintain daily face-to-face interaction with independent contractors. Execute on-the-job training where required. Deal with driver queries promptly and ensure that drivers' voices are represented within the business.
- Obtain driver feedback and feedback to business and actively pursue plans to address any barriers to performance and/or to improve alignment to the business imperatives.
- Review and make recommendations to improve driver self-service to empower drivers to obtain the required resources to deliver against the expectations of the business.
- Daily and weekly engagement with contracted drivers on all facets of the business. Determine if there are any challenges they are experiencing and actively work to resolve driver issues that will inhibit performance, raise caveats, and training opportunities.
- Accurately and timeously report field incidents and accidents in line with company departmental policies. Provide all support functions to contracted drivers on incidents and accidents, accurately and timeously complete incident/accident reports for timely submission to relevant departments.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the cluster through making recommendations and suggestions to the Area Manager.
- Collate and submit budget inputs as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent at NQF level 4 (essential)
- Diploma in supply chain management/transportation/safety management or equivalent at NQF level 5 (essential)
- At least 3 years working experience in an operations environment (essential)
- One year experience in supervisory capacity (desirable)
