Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operational Readiness Engineer to lead the end-to-end OR programme in a mining environment within Gauteng. The role focuses on orchestrating readiness across multi-disciplinary workstreams and ensuring smooth transition from project to operations.

The candidate will establish governance, manage readiness reviews, and coordinate with senior stakeholders to secure a successful handover and ramp-up.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mining, metallurgy, process engineering or related technical field.
• Postgraduate qualification is required or preferred.
• Project Management and/or Operational Readiness certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full Operational Readiness programme from execution through handover and ramp-up.
• Establish and manage the integrated OR governance structure, reporting systems, readiness reviews, and assurance processes.
• Drive alignment between Project Operational Readiness (POR) and Business Operational Readiness (BOR).
• Ensure operational ownership is embedded well before handover.
• Lead OR Steering Committee engagements and executive reporting.
