Job description

Operational Financial Manager required in Johannesburg.

My client forms part of a group of companies and is currently recruiting for a Financial Manager to work at their office in Randburg or Bedfordview.

They are looking for a “young” person with about 5-10 years’ experience in financial management / analysis / reporting.

The purpose of the job is to provide company financial reporting, compliance and support and assist in driving efficiencies and improvements.

Salary: R60,000 – R90,000 per month.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and complete financial budgets, information and reporting. This will include recommending solutions and plans to improve the effectiveness of all functions.
  • Manage and control costs to achieve/exceed the budget. Assist in ensuring that company profits reach benchmarked profits
  • Monthly ensure that all intercompany costs/billing are done and accounted for.
  • Performance reporting to be prepared and presented together with the Operations Director.
  • Ensure bank balances are corrected to agreed upon levels through cash control. Monitor release and transfer of payments. Good cash flow management.
  • Establish internal controls to deliver efficient processes and systems. Prepare month end flash reports. Prepare and ensure accuracy of balance sheet recons.
  • Ensure international and group governance and compliance standards are met at all times.
  • Management and development of Human Resources. Together with HR recruit competent staff.
  • Provide training and development to ensure succession. Conduct annual performance appraisals.
