Job Description :

Our client, a leading industrial services provider specializing in energy, petrochemicals, oil and gas, marine, mining, manufacturing, and construction, is seeking an Operational Executive to lead its Projects Division. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with a passion for industrial advancement, who excels in driving operational excellence, fostering stakeholder relationships, and promoting transformation across Africa. The position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to a high-impact, executive-focused environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Formulate and execute the Projects Division's strategy to align with organizational objectives, driving industrial advancement.
  • Develop and oversee business development initiatives, collaborating with teams to prospect clients and grow the new business pipeline.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry partners to support strategic goals.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring scope, cost, and time requirements are met while achieving profit targets through effective cost control.
  • Lead risk management efforts, chair the risk committee, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Drive human capital management, including recruitment, training, and mentoring, with a focus on Employment Equity (EE) and transformation targets.
  • Provide financial forecasting, revenue, and cost analysis for projects, contributing to annual budget preparation.
  • Represent the company in industry engagements, site visits, and strategic discussions to enhance stakeholder relationships.

Requirements : Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced qualifications (e.g., Master's degree) are a plus but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in industrial project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in strategic planning, business development, and operational management, ideally in energy, petrochemicals, oil and gas, mining, or construction.
  • Strong understanding of B-BBEE compliance and transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., 9001, 45001, 14001) is advantageous.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, financial forecasting, and risk management.
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans, with advanced proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing both languages.
  • Willingness to travel across South Africa and Africa.
