This position exists to support Business Improvement Initiatives by driving operational efficiencies through executing tactical and strategic projects. It ensures that Mission Directed Work Teams and other systems are implemented to enable productivity, high-quality work, safe behavior, and problem solving at the lowest level. The role also assists in cascading organizational strategy and goals to the lowest level while gathering operational requirements for digital transformation in collaboration with the Data Analytics & Technology team.
Strategic Management
- Understand Fraser Alexander’s strategic goals to be achieved by 2024.
- Assist the OE Principal in evaluating and reporting performance against objectives, budgets, and strategic plans.
- Generate facts and perform gap analysis for each division to derive strategic projects.
- Collaborate with Ops Managers and their teams to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
Operational Performance
- Analyze operational activities to identify improvement opportunities.
- Implement a Continuous Improvement platform, including Mission Directed Work Teams (MDWT), for all employees.
- Establish governance structures for Business Improvement, incorporating Standard Operating Model principles.
- Complete Initial Value Propositions (IVPs) for shared ideas, opportunities, and projects.
- Set up project teams with relevant GMs.
- Implement plans and track Value-at-Stake (VAS) monthly.
- Report and track progress in project meetings on a daily/weekly basis as needed.
Digitisation
- Gather requirements for manual workstreams to be digitized and automated.
- Create user journey maps using Business Process Mapping tools for digital solutions.
- Provide training and change management during digital work implementation.
- Develop and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for digital solutions at operations.
Innovation Management
- Develop and maintain systems to track innovations across the business.
- Monitor trends in target markets, technological innovations, and customer requirements, and respond quickly to changes.
- Contribute to implementing innovative strategies to enhance growth, profitability, and development.
Internal Customer Relations
- Share insights, trends, best practices, and benchmarking information with peers.
- Facilitate alignment of Standard Operating Model, Business Improvement projects, and other initiatives with GMs and HODs.
- Coordinate processes among key enablers like Supply Chain, Engineering, HR, and Finance to meet business requirements.
MDWT Implementation at Operations
- Conduct bottom-up operational excellence implementation.
- Ensure daily work aligns with company strategy.
- Improve shift efficiency with HR performance initiatives.
- Train shift workers in problem-solving skills and strategies.
Reporting
- Establish KPI tracking dashboards for MDWT.
- Track progress and benefits of innovations.
- Develop production tracking reports and effective execution metrics.
- Assist GMs and Ops Managers with SLAs and client service level management.
