Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Operations Excellence Engineer in Pretoria, Gauteng, SA, to lead efficiency initiatives across logistics and manufacturing. You will apply Lean Six Sigma, data analysis, and change management to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and drive cost-effective operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering or related field, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with Visio, Excel, and Minitab.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Minimum 5 years in operations improvement in logistics or manufacturing.
Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, able to interpret data.
Proficiency with Visio and data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab).
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder influence.
Change management experience and continuous improvement culture.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and supply chain operations.
Hybrid on-site and remote collaboration experience.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for operational improvement through process analysis, data mining, and site assessments.
Design, develop, and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions for consistency and efficiency.
Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning to optimize resources.
Implement and manage performance metrics and dashboards to track efficiency.
Facilitate cross-functional teams in problem-solving sessions and improvement projects.
Train staff on new processes, tools, and methodologies.
Support development of new technologies and automation solutions.
Analyze data to identify root causes and recommend data-driven solutions.
Ensure improvements align with business objectives and safety standards.
