Operational Accountant

DESCRIPTION / SYNOPSIS: A large specialist manufacturing Company on Johannesburg's East Rand has a role available for an Operational Accountant in their production division.

Reporting to: Finance Manager - the successful Accountant will assume responsibility for the full accounting function for their division.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

1. BCom degree in Accounting
2. Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles
3. Exposure to manufacturing or transport clients during articles will be beneficial
4. Must live close to the East Rand, or be willing to relocate

RESPONSIBILITIES: The financial accountant's responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

1. Processing of month end Journals / Accruals to update TB for month end close off
2. Filing for review and submitting VAT returns to head office and SARS
3. Preparing of Monthly reports for Management Reports
4. Liaison in budgeting process between finance and different departments
5. Assisting with Budgets
6. Fixed assets
7. Compile and present annual budgets
8. Financial reporting
9. Monthly management reports
10. Budgets vs Actuals
11. Product Costings
12. Prepare production schedules
13. Stock / inventory management
