Job description

Minimum Requirements

  • Registered Lifting Machinery Inspector (LMI).
  • Valid Driver’s Licence.
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience in the field.
  • Grade 12 minimum education.
  • Complete knowledge of all competitors' and company products' technical information.

Main Functions

  • Assist the Services & Marketing Manager with all on-site requirements.
  • Implement new sites and asset systems.
  • Develop sites and the service department.
  • Conduct planned task observations and fulfill other mandatory/statutory requirements.
  • Perform site audits, define scope of works, and conduct QMS and cross-functional audits on teams.
  • Liaise between admin and the Services & Marketing Manager.
  • Write reports and procedures.
  • Be highly computer literate and able to implement and plan system development.
  • Act as backup supervisor when required.

Core Functions

  • Provide on-site service and repairs for all makes of beams, electric overhead cranes, electric rope hoists, electric chain hoists, mechanical chain blocks, and lever blocks, including ancillary equipment like festoon systems, supply systems, and safety systems (scope dependent).
  • Install and calibrate load-limiting devices (scope dependent).
  • Perform in-house strip and quotes for electric overhead cranes, electric rope hoists, electric chain hoists, mechanical chain blocks, and lever blocks, including ancillary equipment (scope dependent).
  • Conduct in-house repairs for the same equipment (scope dependent).
  • Carry out proof load testing for beams, electric overhead traveling cranes, electric rope hoists, and chain hoists (scope dependent).
  • Make modifications to upgrade electrical and mechanical units (scope dependent).
  • Handle client liaison, administration, and correspondence.

NOTE : LMI scope dependent.

Skills and Attributes

  • Must be mature and domestically secure.
  • Prepared to spend time traveling and being away from home each month.
  • Willing to work extended hours, including overtime.
  • Must comply with all customer rules and fatal risk standards, addressing safety-critical issues immediately.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Highly motivated, competent, and energetic.
  • Proactive with a positive “can-do” attitude.
