Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Behavioral Specialist to join our Centurion team in Gauteng. The role centers on comprehensive behavioral assessment, ABA-based interventions, and collaboration with families and professionals to promote positive child development.

You will deliver individual and group therapy, maintain accurate records, and stay current with best practices in pediatric behavioral health. On-site role with a focus on compassionate, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Psychology, Child Development, Special Education, or a closely related field.
• BCBA certification or eligibility is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervised experience with children with behavioral and developmental disorders.
• Proven knowledge of child psychology and developmental milestones.
• Experience with assessment tools and pediatric behavioral health interventions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments for children with developmental/behavioral concerns.
• Develop, implement and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
• Provide direct one-on-one and group therapy using evidence-based ABA practices.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and healthcare providers to ensure cohesive treatment.
• Educate families on behavioral strategies for home and community.
• Maintain confidential records in line with ethical and legal standards.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
• Advocate for the needs of children and families served.
• Stay updated with latest research and best practices in pediatric behavioral health.
• Respond to crises with immediate support and intervention when needed.
