Job summary

Utopia Living in Cape Town, South Africa, seeks an experienced On-site MEP Engineer to support a luxury hospitality project in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. This is a fully onsite role requiring relocation to a local village within the Santa Teresa region.

You will report to the MEP Manager and collaborate with architects, designers and contractors to ensure high-quality delivery. The role requires a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree with HVAC concentration and 7–15 years' design or

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a concentration in HVAC or mechanical systems.
7–15 years of experience in design consultancy or general contractor contexts.
Experience on low-rise residential and hospitality projects; excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support and guidance to internal and external design teams and contractors.
Review Electrical/HVAC/Plumbing designs for compliance with project requirements.
Collaborate with architects and engineers to optimize system integration.
Timely resolve technical issues during the design phase.
Stay updated on industry codes and regulations for Electrical/HVAC/Plumbing.
Assist in managing changes and variations per corporate procedures.
