Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant and analytical Information Security Analyst to join their security team in Kimberley. You will monitor logs, analyze security alerts, and provide initial response to threats to protect the organization’s information assets.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years in information security or IT support, a solid understanding of cyber threats, and experience with security monitoring tools such as SIEM and IDS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in IT or CS.
• 2-4 years of information security/IT support experience with security focus.
• Solid understanding of cyber threats and defenses.
• Experience with security monitoring tools such as SIEM and IDS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective team communicator of security information.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and analyze logs for threats using SIEM.
• Perform initial triage and investigation of alerts and incidents.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining security tools.
• Develop and maintain security procedures and incident response documentation.
• Support IT with security controls and compliance.
• Provide basic security awareness training to end-users.
