Job summary

PwC South Africa is seeking an experienced AI engineer for its Agentic Innovation Lab. The role blends legal domain insight with applied AI, embedding with client teams to diagnose workflows and deploy solutions within client environments.

You will refine internal tools, contribute to reusable assets, and mentor junior staff while upholding data privacy and governance standards across engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Law, CS, Data Science, IS, or equivalent.
• 4–5 years in Business Engineering, Operations, or Product Development.
• Ability to map complex business processes.
• Experience with at least one LLM orchestration framework.
• Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems.
• Ability to explain technical AI concepts to business professionals.

Responsibilities

• Solution Architecture and AI Engineering: deconstruct workflows, build RAG pipelines, architect multi-agent systems, maintain taxonomies.
• Client Engagement & Forward Deployment: embed on-site for sprints, manage engagements, translate between stakeholders and engineers, deliver demos.
• Risk, Governance & Quality Assurance: implement guardrails, ensure GDPR/POPIA compliance and governance standards, maintain audit trails.
• Team Contribution & Knowledge Building: manage technical backlogs, mentor juniors, contribute to asset library.
