Job Description

The Senior Solution Architect primarily works with the product owner team by providing business process alignment and technical leadership to craft a solution that is fit for purpose from a business perspective. Consequently, they focus on both smaller and larger facets of the solution to ensure it is engineered and fits the operating model.

KEY RESULT AREAS

1. Focuses on the technical and business feasibility of a solution, ensuring it aligns with patterns and guidelines laid down by enterprise and lead solution architects.
2. Responsible for the quality, commercial compliance, and technical integrity of the solution delivered to the business.
3. Works actively with senior technology/platform systems analysts from across the operational space, including internal subject matter experts and suppliers.
4. Collaborates with other domain architects within the program, including cloud infrastructure, technology, and domain-specific architects.

Compliance

1. Ensures delivery aligns with guidelines from enterprise/solution architects and complies with the IT strategy.
2. Oversees the implementation of solutions to ensure adherence to approved architecture designs.

Financial Control

1. Understands the fiscal aspects of solutions to satisfy business requirements and ensure sustainability, adaptability, and practicality within the RUN model.

Personal Effectiveness

1. Operates effectively in an agile environment using typical agile tools.
2. Can explain complex concepts in layman's terms to make technology accessible.
3. Lives the company values and is accountable for service delivery.
4. Collaborates effectively and manages own time, tasks, and quality over periods of 3 months to 1 year.
5. Plans workload for a small team of solution architects.

Strategy

1. Models and considers financial implications of solutions.
2. Defines and collaborates on design options with stakeholders.
3. Provides recommendations to support informed business decisions.

Technical Consultation

1. Analyzes business processes to determine how IT investments can deliver value.
2. Builds transition plans for effective IT investment exploitation.
3. Defines solutions that meet business and non-functional requirements, are compliant, and can be leveraged across the business.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Relevant tertiary qualification (BSc).
• Minimum of 8 years experience in a similar role.
• IT technical skills: AWS, APIs, Serverless.
• Software modeling and understanding of IT concepts, patterns, principles.
• Knowledge of Policy Administration.
• Cloud certification.
