Job summary

Stefanutti Stocks is seeking an experienced OHL Supervisor to oversee overhead line construction, maintenance, repair and inspection. You will lead site teams, coordinate resources and ensure work aligns with engineering drawings, specifications and schedules.

Requirements include a National Diploma or trade qualification in electrical engineering, OHL certification, a valid driver’s licence and at least 5 years in overhead line work with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily OHL construction, maintenance, repair and inspection activities.

• Enforce SHEQ standards and promote safety culture on site.
• Lead toolbox talks, risk assessments and PPE procedures.
• Coach OHL crews and team leaders; allocate tasks and review performance.
• Inspect completed work and implement corrective actions for defects.
• Plan labour, tools, equipment and materials to optimise resources.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers and clients on site activity.
• Resolve issues and escalate major concerns to management.
• Maintain daily reports, timesheets, attendance and quality records.

Stefanutti Stocks is looking for an experienced OHL Supervisor to oversee the construction, maintenance, repair and inspection of overhead line infrastructure. The role is responsible for ensuring that all activities are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule, while meeting company standards, client requirements and applicable regulations. The OHL Supervisor will lead site teams, coordinate resources and monitor work to ensure quality and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily OHL construction, maintenance, repair and inspection activities.
• Coordinate work teams, subcontractors, equipment and materials to ensure efficient project execution.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved engineering drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Monitor project progress, productivity and quality against approved programmes and schedules.
• Enforce SHEQ standards and promote a strong safety culture across the site.
• Conduct toolbox talks, pre-job risk assessments and ensure compliance with PPE and safe work procedures.
• Supervise and guide OHL crews and team leaders, including task allocation, performance management and on-the-job coaching.
• Inspect completed work, identify defects and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Plan and monitor labour, tools, equipment and material requirements to optimise resource utilisation.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients and contractors regarding site activities and progress.
• Resolve operational issues and elevate significant concerns to management.
• Complete and maintain accurate daily site reports, timesheets, attendance registers, productivity records and quality documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

• National Diploma or Trade Qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Relevant OHL certification and training.
• Valid driver's licence.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Overhead Line construction or maintenance.
• At least 2 years' supervisory experience.
• Experience working on transmission and distribution line projects.
• Knowledge of Eskom or utility industry standards would be advantageous.
