A prestigious retail store specialising in art collectables and antique rugs requires a Sales Administrator to play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the store. This position involves handling stock, maintaining customer relationships, processing transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of the showroom. Minimum requirements for the role:
A matric is essential.
A diploma / degree in a marketing or related field is preferred but not essential.
Previous experience in a retail or sales administration role, preferably in a related field, is essential for this role.
Proficiency with IQ retail or similar inventory management systems is preferred.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Receive and direct the storage of new shipments and large amounts of stock.
Capture stock onto the in-house system (IQ retail).
Replenish stock, including packaging supplies, carpet cleaning equipment, and repair materials.
Maintain good relationships with existing customers and suppliers by providing prompt follow-up services.
Provide clients with information on product pricing, features, and availability.
Handle cash and credit card transactions for purchases.
Follow up on customer enquiries, prepare quotations, raise invoices, and follow up on sales and performance after sales.
Provide solutions to address and resolve client issues or challenges and secure return business.
Arrange collection and delivery for client purchases as well as carpet cleaning.
Coordinate courier services for orders placed online for local delivery or out of province.
Consult on client decorating projects.
Ensure daily showroom operations are performed seamlessly and efficiently to optimize productivity.
Coordinate in-house service requirements for carpet cleaning and restoration to be conducted on-site at customers' properties.
