Job Purpose

The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government, is seeking a qualified and competent individual to provide office management services to the Deputy Director-General (DDG).

Qualifications include an appropriate 3-year National Diploma / B-Degree (or higher); a minimum of 3 years' experience supporting top management with executive functions.

Key Performance Areas
  • Manage engagements and provide administrative support; conduct research, analyze information, and prepare complex documents for the Senior Manager / DDG; support the DDG with meetings; manage office resources; stay informed about relevant policies and procedures to ensure effective support.
  • Knowledge of public service reporting procedures, governance systems, policies, regulations, and internal procedures; familiarity with the SMS Manual, Financial Manual, and administrative and financial management; budget control, procurement, tender administration, human resource management, and line functions within the department.
  • Skills in research, analytical thinking, financial and project management, communication, problem-solving, presentation, conflict resolution, and computer literacy; ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; basic written communication skills; proficiency in computer use.
